We’re excited to announce a new feature we’ve been working on for our enterprise customers, smart Real-time Cart Recommendations! This Emptive module scans cart items in real-time and recommends products to consumers so they can add them to their cart! For our enterprise customers our cloud system can connect to almost any ecommerce platform like Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento. Feature list at the end of this post.
Problem:
With more online shopping and less in-store shopping consumers aren’t exposed to product proximity relationships (PPR). Which is the placement of similar or symbiotic products in close physical proximity. This helps consumers make contextual decisions based on product placement.
With the transition to online shopping, we’re finding ways to help shoppers make decisions on which items to purchase and which products work together. One way that retailers do this is by creating categories.
Categorical shopping is great for organization and when consumers are shopping for one product. But that’s not usually how consumers shop. Much of the time they look for groupings of products that solve a problem of fulfilling a need.
For example, you want to bake a cake. You need a grouping of products to achieve your goal. Many of those products are in one aisle at the grocery store.
Solution:
In the future we have to start organizing and presenting products to consumers with contextual relationships. This is why modules like “Frequently Bought Together” or “Works Well With” have become so popular. Companies like Amazon have validated these methods with tons of data and testing.
